Proud parents Kelly and Jackson Dodds welcomed their son, Ellis Benjamin, into the world on Friday, June 12 at Stony Brook University Medical Center. Ellis was born 9lbs 15oz and 21 3/4 inches long. His birth was attended by the Stony Brook Midwives and doula Carole Perez-Montanari. Ellis has a proud big brother, two-year old Rowan, and a large loving family including seven grandparents: Barbara & Ray Connaughton, Dai Dayton, Kathy & Tom Gisbert, Jill & Richard Dodds; seven aunts, four uncles, eight cousins and his great-grandmother, Pam Dodds.
It was a natural fit. The Moyer family of Sag Harbor has four children, including three daughters, one of whom has an autism spectrum disorder. And the Autism Science Foundation was looking for families just like the Moyers to help out with a research endeavor.
A proposed increase in fees for the use of sidewalks for events, construction work and other such “encumbrances,” as defined in Sag Harbor’s village code, and a new fee for similar uses of parking spaces brought out frustrated business owners en masse during Wednesday’s village board meeting.
