Stony Brook Southampton Hospital began administering COVID-19 vaccination shots at Parrish Memorial Hall, on the hospital property, on Herrick Road in Southampton Village this week.
No appointments for shots are necessary, no insurance is required and the shots are free of charge.
The vaccinations will be offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays only, from noon to 6 p.m., and began being distributed on August 3.
Both the Pfizer vaccine, which requires two shots three weeks apart, and the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which only requires one, will be available — although there are more limited supplies of the single shot vaccine.
The minimum age to receive a vaccination is 12.
Those coming for shots are asked to park in designated spots on Herrick Road. When coming for a second shot of the Pfizer vaccine, the recipient must bring their vaccination card.
The hospital’s staff operated the mass vaccination site set up at the Stony Brook Southampton campus, which administered more than 50,000 vaccination shots between March and July.
Stony Brook Children’s will also held a vaccination POD for children 12 and over at Hampton Bays Middle School on Wednesday, August 4. Appointments were available at bit.ly/hbvaccine2021. A parent or guardian must accompany anyone under the age of 17.
Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead is also offering free vaccinations at the hospital, though appointments are required via www.northwellvaccine.force.com.
