East Hampton’s Kate Mueth and her not-for-profit dance theater company, The Neo-Political Cowgirls, are bringing a twist to the typical Halloween scare event this year. “Hysteria: An Immersive experience of fear” is a “Surround Story” which plays with sound, experiences, music, light, darkness, dance and chilling stories all inspired by the true cases of women who were diagnosed with “Hysteria” then yanked from loved ones and cast into insane asylums, never to be seen again.
Creepy and riddled with distorted movement, terrifying music and stories, “Hysteria” presents a unique experience for the Halloween season for those who love being scared. The cast features Vanessa Walters, Josh Gladstone, Trevor Vaughn, LaWanda Hopkins, Quinn Jackson, Amanda Nichols, Rebecca Edana, Susan Stout and Colleen Edwards.
“Hysteria” will be performed on Thursday, October 17, at 8 p.m. at Guild Hall, 158 Main Street, East Hampton. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door. Limited front row seating (and a unique immersion experience) is $50. Audience members must be 15 or older to attend. Visit npcowgirls.org for information and tickets. Guild Hall is at 1598 Main Street, East Hampton.
