Southampton Town Supervisor Anna Throne-Holst, who earlier this year announced she would challenge freshman U.S. Representative Lee Zeldin in 2016, continues to rack up the endorsements.
This week, Ms. Throne-Holst’s campaign announced that she had been endorsed by Suffolk County Legislator Jay Schneiderman, Shelter Island Town Supervisor Jim Dougherty, former East Hampton Town Supervisor and former New York State Democratic Committee Chair Judith Hope, Southampton Town Board member Brad Bender, West Hampton Dunes Village Mayor Gary Vegliante, Westhampton Beach Village Trustee Brian Tymann, former Riverhead Democratic Committee Chair Butch Langhorn, and former Smithtown Town Supervisor candidate and Smithtown Democratic Committee First Vice-Chair Steve Snair.
“Since my first day in Town Hall, I set out to work with anyone and everyone who would listen and do the right thing for Long Island. And as I tackle this next chapter and build my campaign for Congress, it’s humbling to have the support of so many I have worked with in the past on important issues for the residents of Suffolk County,” said Ms. Throne-Holst in a release.
Those who endorsed Throne-Holst this week join U.S. Representative Steve Israel, the Southampton Town Patrolman’s Benevolent Association, EMILY’s List, Assemblyman Fred Thiele, Southold Democratic Chair Art Tillman, Southampton Democratic Chair Gordon Herr, and Shelter Island Democratic Chair Heather Reylek.
Ms. Throne-Holst, who was a member of the Independence Party as a town official, is running as a Democrat in her bid to unseat Mr. Zeldin, a Republican.
