Bay Street Theater presented a check for $15,000 to the Sag Harbor Volunteer Ambulance Corp and the Sag Harbor Fire Department on February 3 — the proceeds from “A Night of Thanks” benefit held on January 19 to support both volunteer agencies following the December 16 Main Street, Sag Harbor fire that damaged several buildings, and displaced a number of businesses and residents. On February 5, Page Restaurant General Manager Eric Peele presented Chief Gardella with a check for $12,000, the proceeds of the “Meet the Heroes” benefit held on January 8. Funds for the Ambulance Department will be put towards a new ambulance or ancillary equipment, while funds for the Fire Department have been earmarked for turnout gear.
Wednesday’s workshop will cover Snapchat, which is used by about 191 million people worldwide. The event takes place at 5 p.m. in the Pierson library.
Mr. Vilar, who lives in Springs and recently lost a bid for a town board seat in a special election, received unanimous support from the party’s executive committee.
