The Show Must Go On Ice

Buckskill Winter Club in East Hampton will be the site of an ice skating benefit for Bay Street Theater.

Sag Harbor’s Bay Street Theater will host a “Broadway Skating Party,” a novel fundraising event, on Sunday, March 7, and for this one, participants will want to dress warmly and bring their best skills on blades.

The benefit will take place at Buckskill Winter Club in East Hampton where, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., the ice rink, which normally holds 200, will be closed to all but the first 80 guests who purchase tickets. The skating party is a chance for Bay Street’s audience to take to the ice and channel their inner Olympic skater for a private, 90-minute session. Those attending will enjoy a soundtrack loaded with Broadway musical favorites from past and present that will help them find their groove on the ice in a relaxed social-distanced setting.

Costumes are optional. During the party, Buckskill’s snack bar will be open to serve hot chocolate and other refreshments, and Buckskill staff will be on-hand to provide skate sharpening for an additional fee. All attendees will walk away with a VIP Bay Street gift bag. All ages and levels welcome.

Buckskill Winter Club is at 178 Buckskill Road, East Hampton. Doors open at 6 p.m. and skating begins at 6:30 p.m., and guests can call ahead to reserve their skates to avoid any lines. Tickets are $25 per person and include rentals from Buckskill Winter Club and a Bay Street gift bag. Skate sharpening by Buckskill staff is not included. A rain date is set for Sunday, March 14. If both dates are rained out, payments will be considered a donation. No refunds will be made. Bay Street will adhere strictly to all necessary COVID-19 safety guidelines and protocols, including mandatory masks. For more information, contact Kim Fink, director of development, at
