Folioeast presents “Texture & Tone,” a two-person show of new paintings by Eva Faye and Amy Wickersham, opening January 1 at Kathryn Markel Fine Arts, 2418 Montauk Highway, Bridgehampton.

The works explore both actual and perceived textures and the use of rich, saturated tones in unexpected combinations. Eva Faye creates organic luminous patterns with layers of oil paint, applied, removed, applied again. The subtle patterns seem to hover above the surface. In Amy Wickersham’s mixed media pieces, there is a literal layering of dyed silk and acrylic paint, with the  silk visible on the surface, sometimes outside the canvas’ edge, and the layers adding visual depth.

The exhibit will remain on view through January 31. Because of the increase in COVID-19 cases, there will be no in-person opening reception. Gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m., Thursday through Monday, or by appointment. For more information contact coco@folioeast.com or call 917-592-8033.
