Sag Harbor Superintendent Katy Graves to Take Leave for “Immediate Surgery”

“With a heavy heart, I regret to inform the members of the Board of Education and the community that I will have to step away from my duties beginning on November, 22, 2019 as the Superintendent of the Sag Harbor Schools for immediate surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York City,” said Ms. Graves in a letter to the board of education on November 15.

Sag Harbor Community Housing Trust Hopeful For Route 114 Project

Members of the Sag Harbor Community Housing Trust, a nonprofit formed in 2008, said this week they remain hopeful that a partnership with the Town of East Hampton might result in a housing project on Route 114 in Wainscott, just outside of Sag Harbor Village, one that could result in many more housing units than the organization would be able to construct on its own.

The Old Burying Ground, one of the South Fork’s oldest cemeteries, is home to more than 330 gravesites, some dating back to the Revolutionary War. And many are in dire need of repair, local historic preservation consultant Zachary Studenroth reported to the Sag Harbor Village Board at its Tuesday night meeting.
