Kate Mueth’s non-profit theatrical organization, the Neo-Political Cowgirls, is presenting “Halloween Story Time From America’s Women” this weekend. The audio program can be accessed anytime between October 29 and midnight on October 31, and the Cowgirls are providing spine-tingles while also shining light on the challenging and brave stories of women.
Opera fans will be delighted to learn that Bay Street Theater is poised to present the virtual world premiere of the original biopic opera “Rival Queens” on Thursday, November 12, at 8 p.m. The one-hour performance, presented by Divaria Productions, tells the story of Mary Queen of Scots and Queen Elizabeth I, and features music from Donizetti’s opera “Maria Stuarda” with English subtitles.
Beginning November 10, and continuing each Tuesday through December 8, Montauk Library will host a fall virtual reading and discussion series titled “Your Silence Will Not Protect You! — The Writing of Audre Lorde,” a Humanities New York Reading Program.
