SWIM Finds East End Audience

The band SWIM, which will perform at The Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett.

South by Southwest concertgoers may recognize the band members of SWIM from the music festival stage when they perform on Wednesday, July 11, at the Stephen Talkhouse, located at 161 Main Street in Amagansett.

Not only did the Stony Brook-based band play the Austin music festival, but they were voted one of the top 10 bands on Long Island last summer in Newsday’s Band Battle, and released their sophomore effort, “Finally, Someone,” in 2017 — debuting a focused bid at powerful, alternative rock laced with heavy pop overtones.

“SWIM’s thoughtful lyrics, pop melodies, and rhythmic guitar and bass accompaniments tip their hat to indie rock influences like The Strokes and The Kooks, while staying true to the group’s unique brand of pop, heavily influenced by the likes of The Lumineers, Bleachers, and Coldplay,” according to a press release.

The concert starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are $10. For more information, visit stephentalkhouse.com.
