Summer Solstice Kicks Off with Art for a Cause

The summer solstice is almost here, and the Ellen Hermanson Foundation is ready to celebrate.

On the longest day of the year, the health organization will partner with The White Room Gallery for a kick-off cocktail party and opening reception of Balancing Act,” featuring work by Sally Breen, EJ Camp, Joan Konkel and John Mazlish, on Saturday, June 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bridgehampton gallery, located at 2415 Main Street.

A portion of the art proceeds will support the Ellen Hermanson Breast Centers at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital and satellite locations in Hampton Bays and East Hampton and Ellen’s Well, a free psychosocial support program.

“The Ellen Hermanson Foundation is unique in its commitment to helping breast cancer patients and their families cope with the physical and emotional aspects of breast cancer,” according to a press release. “No patient is turned away from the Ellen Hermanson Breast Center for lack of insurance or inability for pay for treatment. All services through Ellen’s Well are provided free of charge.”
