State Senate Debate Slated for Next Week in Bridgehampton

With Election Day just weeks away, the League of Women Voters of the Hamptons will host a debate between candidates for New York State Senate on Tuesday, October 25 at 7 p.m. at the Hampton Library on Main Street in Bridgehampton.

Incumbent State Senator Kenneth LaValle, a Republican, and challenger Gregory Fischer, representing the Democratic Party, will make timed opening and closing statements, and will answer a series of questions submitted by Sag Harbor Express editor and co-publisher Kathryn G. Menu, members of the League of Women Voters, and the audience. The event will be moderated by Judi Roth of the League, and has been organized by League voter services co-chairs Anne Marshall and Carol Mellor.

Later this week, The Press News Group will host a debate between Congressman Lee Zeldin, a Republican, and his challenger, Democratic Party nominee and former Southampton Town Supervisor Anna Throne-Holst. That debate will take place on Saturday, October 22 at 2 p.m. at the Southampton Arts Center on Jobs Lane in Southampton Village. That debate will be moderated by Joseph P. Shaw, executive editor of the Press News Group, and will be recorded by SEA-TV.
