On August 27 at 4:15 p.m., officer Richard Spera and officer Theodore Jasinski responded to a 911 call at a Sagaponack residence. The caller stated the housekeeper had passed out and appeared blue. Officer Spera arrived at the house within one minute of receiving the call and initiated CPR. Officer Jasinski arrived shortly thereafter and assisted in the life-saving technique.

The 55-year-old victim was transported to Southampton Hospital by Bridgehampton Fire Department Rescue members, who advised police they registered a pulse while in transport to the hospital. The victim was then transferred to the Intensive Care Unit at Stony Brook University Medical Center, where she was still recuperating as of press time.
