The Town of Southampton will hold a drawing for a new housing lottery of 15 affordable homes at Southampton Pointe on Village Green Drive off County Road 39 in Southampton on Thursday, October 25, at 3 p.m. at Southampton Town Hall, 116 Hampton Road in Southampton. The new condominium townhouses feature two bedrooms and one-and-a-half baths.
Eligible households must meet median income under 2018-2019 income levels established by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. The sale price for the homes for people earning 80 percent of the median income is $233,375 and for those earning 120-percent the price is $350,125.
For a family of four, income at 80 percent of median income is $93,350 and at 120-percent is $140,050. For a family of two, that figure decreases to $74,700 at 80 percent of median income and $112,050 at 120 percent of median income.
The homes are being offered through the cooperative efforts of Fairfield Southampton LLC, the Town of Southampton and the Long Island Housing Partnership. According to a release issued by the town, 280 applications were made to the Long Island Housing Partnership to be entered into the lottery. Thursday’s lottery will establish the ranking number for applicants to pursue a formal application to purchase the homes through the LIHP.
