Sag Harbor Village Board Work Session Will Focus on Volunteerism

The Sag Harbor Village Board of Trustees will host its January work session on Wednesday, January 22, at 5 p.m., with a foucs on “volunteerism,” according to Mayor Kathleen Mulcahy.

“We will be inviting the various volunteer organizations in the Village including the emergency services, the School and Park boards and organizations such as Save Sag Harbor and The Cinema, as well as our own Village Boards and Committees to speak to the board about how they function thanks to their volunteers,” said Ms. Mulcahy in an email this week.

Ms. Mulcahy said the village board will also be asking volunteers and residents about incentives for volunteers, how they can be improved and what barriers prevent more residents from being a part of these various groups.

“The purpose is to not only celebrate those who are showing up and committed now, but to look for ways to get the next wave of volunteers into the fold and how we as village government can help these organizations get new members and nurture the future generations of residents willing to give of their time,” she said.

The meeting will take place in the second-floor meeting room of the village Municipal Building at 55 Main Street in Sag Harbor. For a full agenda, visit
