Student-musicians from Pierson middle and high schools have been selected to perform in the annual Hampton Music Educators Association (HMEA) Music Festivals, scheduled for January 16 and 23.
The students were selected to perform in the prestigious festivals based on teacher recommendations and scores received at NYSSMA.
“It is an honor and a privilege for the young ladies and gentlemen to perform with the HMEA ensemble while representing our school and community,” said Eric Reynolds, Pierson High School band director. “Our festival students possess a tremendous amount of talent and we are all extremely proud of their commitment, dedication and achievements.”
Students in the middle school chorus performing at the HMEA festival include Casey Annicelli, Anne Browning, Leonita Browning, Emily Brownstein, Gaylin Davey, Valerie Duran, Angela Gardella, Emily Glass, Indira Roth, Sara Schoen, Lady Tirado Toral and Francesca Vitale. Members of the middle school orchestra are violinist Lucia Beeton and cellist Dylan Hewett. Middle school band members include Elizabeth Borzilleri (trumpet), Victoria Dudek-Tipton (clarinet), Abigail Hallock (baritone saxophone), Milo Leahy-Miller (trombone) Nicholas McCoy (alto saxophone), and Keara Murphree (clarinet). Pierson High School chorus members Elizabeth Lesser, Jack Nolan, Ella Parker, Kara Richholt, Natalie Sepp, and Cassandra Spencer will also perform, as will violinist Cathelia Reed, and oboe player Eve Bishop.
