Steven Ponzini and CC McGlynn, students at Sag Harbor Elementary School, will travel to Colombia next month with their soccer club, South Fork United, to spread goodwill and donate school and soccer supplies to children in need. Steven and CC, both 10 years old, were joined on Friday for a presentation at Morning Program by Greg Fink, the president of South Fork United, and Andreas Lindberg, the director of coaching.

Five local teams will travel to the cities of Manizales, Pereira and Armenia to compete in a series of tournaments against Colombian children. A total of 147 people, including 62 players, will travel with the club.

South Fork United is a collection of teams from four different clubs in Southampton, Hampton Bays, Bellport and the North Fork. Players, their parents and coaches from the club are collecting gently used soccer equipment and school supplies to bring to Colombia, and Steven and CC brought a donation bin to the school on Friday.
