Sag Harbor Police Investigate Burglary at Public Works Building

Police are looking for help identifying two individuals that may have been involved in a burglary at the village's Public Works building on Columbia Street.

On Monday, Sag Harbor Village Police announced it is asking the public to help identify two subjects wanted for questioning in connection with a burglary that occurred at the Sag Harbor Village Public Works building on Columbia Street on October 15, around 11 p.m.

According to the police log, unknown persons entered that property, removed tools and power equipment from the building and placed them in a village truck, although the equipment was believed to have been left in the vehicle. A landscaping company helping the village with some work also reported some tools taken, but the items were recovered on the property. Other village-owned vehicles also appeared to have been rummaged through. The fence to the property and several vehicles were left unlocked, according to police, and the matter remains under investigation.
