Sag Harbor Man Faces Forcible Touching Charges For Incident That Occurred In October

A Sag Harbor man was arrested on Wednesday, February 24, by Sag Harbor Village Police and charged with three counts of forcible touching for an incident that occurred in October, police said in a press release sent out on Friday.

Jake Early, 23, of Sag Harbor turned himself into police following a months long investigation of the incident, which occurred on October 24, police said.

Police said Mr. Early accosted a female victim and touched her inappropriately on that day. Later that same day, he was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident for which he faced felony DWI and other charges, police said.

Subsequent to the accident, the investigation revealed that Mr. Early had accosted the female and had touched her inappropriately, without her consent, prior to the accident.

Mr. Early was charged with three counts of forcible touching, all misdemeanors, and will be arraigned on March 5 at Sag Harbor Justice Court.

Police declined to offer further details of the arrest in order to protect the identity of the victim.
