Sag Harbor Composer Premieres New Work

Dan Koontz and Allison Bourquin O’Reilly.

When pianist Dan Koontz isn’t busy playing in rock bands on the East End, he is composing — his most recent work, “Sonatina No. 2,” to be debuted by flautist Allison Bourquin O’Reilly and Koontz himself on Sunday, April 15, during the Sunday Series at Christ Episcopal Church in Sag Harbor.

The concert will also feature two classics of the flute repertoire — “Duo for Flute and Piano” by Aaron Copland and “Sonate” by Paul Hindemith. Tickets are $20 in advance, or $25 at the door, and proceeds will benefit the Pipe Organ Restoration Fund of Christ Church.

The church is located at 4 East Union Street in Sag Harbor, and tickets are available at Canio’s Books, 290 Main Street in Sag Harbor. For information, please call (631) 725-0128 or email
