Raebeck, Doyle Team Up for ‘Louse Point’ Reading

The voice behind hundreds of audio books is bringing Shelby Raebeck’s “Louse Point: Stories From the East End” to life — in real life.

Alongside the author, Gerard Doyle will read and perform two short stories from the collection — one from the point of view of a disenchanted student and another, a dramatic monologue, from a rabble-rousing teacher — on Thursday, June 27, at 6 p.m. at Canio’s Books, located at 290 Main Street in Sag Harbor.

Both present fierce, colorful challenges to the establishment, and contain adult language.

Raebeck, who grew up on the East End and later returned, is additionally the author of the novel “Sparrow Beach,” and Doyle is also a classically trained actor with numerous film and stage credits, including the English Shakespeare Company.
