Police Allege Sag Harbor Man Filed False Records for Dock Slips

Sag Harbor Village Police have charged village resident Matthew F. Keller, 41, with ten felonies after an investigation showed he allegedly falsified documents to help a friend who does not live in Sag Harbor pay resident dockage fees for a village boat slip.

According to a press release issued Monday by Sag Harbor Police Chief Austin J. McGuire, Mr. Keller was charged with five counts of offering a false instrument for filing in the first degree and five counts of falsifying business records in the first degree.

Assisted in the investigation by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles Division of Field Investigations, police allege Mr. Keller filed false records with the Sag Harbor Village Office going back to 2014.

Mr. Keller was arraigned Friday and released on $1,000 bail.
