Quite a few performers from Pierson Middle-High School’s production of the play “You Can’t Take it With You” in the fall and the musical “Anything Goes” in the spring have earned Teeny Award nominations this year from the organization East End Arts.

“While we do not perform or do theater for the awards, it is always a wonderful bonus and honor to be recognized, so I want to congratulate everyone who was nominated for their high school shows with the Teeny Awards this year,” said Bethany Dellapolla, who directs Pierson’s musicals. “Of course, I have to give a special shout out to all of my Pierson students. So, so proud of you guys!”

The winners will be announced in a red carpet ceremony on Sunday, June 3, at Longwood High School. The Judges’ Choice award, which recognizes an entire cast for an outstanding performance, will be presented to Southold High School for its production of “Phantom of the Opera.” The 2017-18 school year marks the 16th year the awards have been presented.
