The Merrick-based Orlin & Cohen Orthopedic Group has expanded its reach eastward by recently acquiring Long Island Bone & Joint LLP, an independent practice with offices in Port Jefferson, Riverhead and Southampton.
“We saw a natural connection with the talented professionals at Long Island Bone & Joint and knew it made sense,” Michael Passet, CEO of Orlin & Cohen, said in a statement. “This will provide the most advanced care and greater accessibility for eastern Long Island patients.”
Headed by Michael Fracchia, Long Island Bone & Joint specializes in advanced foot and ankle reconstruction, new bone retaining hip replacements, hip arthroscopy and computer assisted knee reconstructions, shoulder care from arthroscopic sports injuries to reverse total shoulder replacements, and a full range of spine surgery. The practice also includes Richard Legouri, Brian McGinley, Richard Savino, John Hubbell, Henry Marano, John Yu, Rasel Rana, June Halsey and Stephen Densen.
“Established in 1998, LIBJ was the largest remaining independent orthopedic group serving the eastern Long Island market,” according to a press release. “LIBJ’s team of 10 physicians brings expertise in almost all of the major orthopedic subspecialties. LIBJ also offers advanced imaging and rehabilitation services that align well with Orlin & Cohen’s strategy at providing comprehensive musculoskeletal capabilities in the markets it serves.”
