Sushi, Sake & Silent Auction for Sag Harbor Cinema

The Sag Harbor Partnership will be the beneficiary of a benefit dinner, “Sushi, Sake & Silent Auction,” on Sunday, June 25, from noon to 3 p.m. in support of efforts to rebuild and redevelop the former Sag Harbor Cinema property. The event is sponsored by Sen and local Sag Harbor vendors. The afternoon will feature food, drinks and silent auction items. A $30 contribution per person is requested. Lions President Espach Awarded Robert J. Uplinger Award

The Sag Harbor Lions president, Steven Espach, was presented the Robert J. Uplinger Distinguished Service Award by the Suffolk County Lions District 20-S District Governor Balan Nagraj and Global Leadership Coordinator Dr. Maureen Murphy at the Centennial Celebration and Testimonial Dinner on June 9 at the Hotel Indigo East End in Riverhead.

The Uplinger award was presented to him for his dedication and outstanding service given to his club and district this past year. The Uplinger award is the highest available in Multiple District 20 – New York State and Bermuda – and is presented through the New York State and Bermuda Lions Foundation. Honorees possess the highest examples of Lionistic character, ideals, purpose, and service.

Lions Club International’s Centenary was on Wednesday, June 7.  The Testimonial Espach inner on June 9 celebrated Lions Club International and all members which is the world’s largest service club organizations with have more than 1.4 million members in more than 46,000 clubs worldwide. Men and women are active in more than 200 countries and geographic areas around the globe.
