OLA Partners With CMEE on Mental Health Workshop

In response to the increasing levels of fear and anxiety within the Latino community and with what organizers said was a clear need demonstrated at the last workshop which hosted 27 adults and 23 children, Organización Latino Americana de Long Islandis partnering with the Children’s Museum of the East End in Bridgehampton once again for Circles of Strength/Círculos de Fuerza: a family-centered mental health workshop.

These workshops were created by OLA, CMEE and local mental healthcare providers, Bryony Freij, LCSW,Carolina Agudelo, bilingual Social Worker, LMSW and Oscar Mandes, LMSW.

Workshops will be facilitated by mental health and social work professionals to offer tools, exercises and approaches for families to use to decrease stress, increase communication, and build stronger family and community networks.

This will be the third in a series of stand-alone, three-hour workshops open to adults and children representing traditional and non-traditional family units. Advanced registration is necessary, but is free. For more information, call OLA at (631) 899-3441.
