In a tribute piece during next weekend’s production of “TAP: An Evening of Rhythm,” Our Fabulous Variety Show will honor local veterans and service members as part of its “Armed Forces Medley” — and is seeking help from the community.
Choreographed in memory of a family friend, 1stLieutenant Michael Runyan — who was killed in July 2010 while serving in Iraq — the number will be danced as photos are projected onto a screen at the John Drew Theater at Guild Hall. Any and all submissions are welcome, and can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org with name, dates of service and the branch of the armed forces they served.
Performances will be held on Friday, May 4, at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, May 5, at 2 and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, May 6, at 2 p.m. at the East Hampton theater, located at 158 Main Street. Later that evening, the theater troupe will host its Vaudeville Cabaret at 6 p.m., featuring drag queen divas RaffaShow, Naomi and Rusty Nails, as well as local musicians, singers and dancers, and the OFVS improv crew — Anita Boyer, Kristen Lee Curcie, Anthony D’Alessio, Kasia Klimiuk and Joe Pallister.
“TAP” tickets range from $20 through $55, and all tickets for the Vaudeville Cabaret are $25. For more information, please call (631) 507-4603 or visit ourfabulousvarietyshow.org.
