Marie K. King, a lifelong resident of Sag Harbor, passed away on February 9 at the age of 78.
Born Marie Francis Kelly, she was the daughter of J. Francis Kelly and Adele Kelly on December 7, 1939. Mrs. King was retired from the United States Post Office, where she was a Rural Letter Carrier for many years. Until recently, she was also active in the Sag Harbor Ladies Village Improvement Society and the Noyac Civic Council.
Mrs. King was predeceased by her sister, Joan Ialacci, and is survived by a sister, Laurentia Gallup, and a brother-in-law, Ron Gallup of Woodstock, Georgia. She is also survived by daughter Marie McErlean and her husband, Patrick McErlean, of Sag Harbor, and daughter Deborah King, of East Hampton, as well as four grandchildren, David Ngo, Emma McErlean, Ivory King and Kelly King, and one great-grandchild, Alyssa King.
Her ashes will be interred in St. Andrew Cemetery during a memorial service in early spring.
