‘Music Mondays’ Closes on a High Note

Mandy Gonzalez

Composer and playwright Lin-Manuel Miranda has called Mandy Gonzalez “one of the greatest singers on earth.”

He would know.

Having starred in two of his musicals — “In the Heights” and “Hamilton” — the Broadway singer is now touring her new cabaret show, “Mandy Gonzalez: Fearless!” which will stage on Monday, August 27, at 8 p.m. as the final performance of Bay Street Theater’s “Music Mondays” concert series.

“It is described as an unforgettable evening of elegance, romance and celebration. The unmatched power and grace of Gonzalez’s signature style turns new songs into instant classics and makes classics new again,” a press release said. “From Mandy’s signature song, ‘Breathe,’ written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, to her captivating cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “Born to Run,” Mandy is electrifying.”

In addition, a Fearless Female Choir comprised of local children and adults will join her on stage. Tickets range from $69 to $125. For more information, call (631) 725-9500 or visit baystreet.org.
