A new line of all natural, zero-calorie and zero-sugar cocktail mixer, Be Mixed, was launched in 2015, and is now available at South Fork locations including Citarella and the Surf Lodge in Montauk.
Created by Cristina Ros Blankfein and Jennifer Ross — a Type 1 diabetic — Be Mixed cocktail mixers are sugar-free, gluten-free, and made from all-natural fruit, as well as herb and vegetable extracts. It derives its natural sweetness from antioxidant-rich monk fruit, a subtropical melon, and can be used with a variety of base spirits including vodka, whiskey, and tequila, as well as beer and wine — or in non-alcoholic mocktails by pairing the mixers with sparkling water. The mixers are available in three distinct flavors — Ginger Lime, Cucumber Mint and Margarita, and come in single serving 4 oz. bottles.
Ms. Ross and Ms. Blankfein are Harvard Business School graduates and entrepreneurs. They were inspired to develop Be Mixed by Ms. Ross’s own battle with Type 1 diabetes. They launched Be Mixed in August of 2015, and the mixers are available at the Surf Lodge in Montauk throughout the summer.
