The League of Women Voters of the Hamptons will co-sponsor a program with the East Hampton Library, titled, “Make Your Voice Heard,” on Monday, September 17, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the library’s Baldwin Family Lecture Room.
The program will focus on techniques for civic engagement, with materials including the county League’s “2018 Directory of Public Officials” available for guests to take home.
“The mission of the League of Women Voters is to empower citizens and to encourage the active and informed participation of citizens in government,” said League co-presidents Estelle Gellman and Susan Wilson in a press release. “The League has had a long-standing motto, ‘Democracy is not a spectator sport.’”
Attendees can also sign up to help with the League’s many voter registration tables located from Westhampton to Montauk on Tuesday, September 25, National Voter Registration Day. The Hamptons League serves both Southampton and East Hampton towns. For more information, call (631) 324-4637 or visit lwvhamptons.org.
