YorkBridge Wealth Partners, a financial planning and investment management services firm with offices in New York and Bridgehampton, hosted its first “Business Leaders Conference” on Monday, January 22, at Gurney’s Resort in Montauk. Hosted by the firm’s founding partners, Carrie Gallaway and Andrew Stern, the symposium attracted over 80 local business owners and professionals to join a discussion about economic, financial and legislative issues impacting small businesses.
Joseph Plumeri, Vice Chairman, First Data Board of Directors, and best-selling author of “The Power Of Being Yourself,” delivered the keynote speech and emphasized vision, purpose and imagination as essential tools to achieving success in a challenging business environment.
YorkBridge Partner, Jeffrey Lane discussed the current state of healthcare with Dr. Thomas McGinn, the deputy physician-in-chief with Northwell Health, and moderated questions. Jeffrey Schulze, director and investment strategist at ClearBridge Investments, provided an overview of the market, along with insightful commentary. John E. Larkin, Partner at Markowitz, Fenelon & Bank and attorney Melissa Sidor of Campolo, Middleton & McCormick addressed the dynamics of business succession planning and wealth transfer. Mr. Stern led a panel on philanthropy featuring Loretta Davis, executive director of The Retreat, and Stephanie Diamond, managing director of business development at Schwab Charitable, who discussed the impact of the new tax plan on giving.
