Laser Light Show To Highlight 10th Annual HarborFrost in Sag Harbor on Saturday

More than 250 drones will light up the sky over Sag Harbor on Saturday.

The Sag Harbor Chamber of Commerce will host its annual HarborFrost celebration on Saturday, February 29, from 1 to 6 p.m. in and around Sag Harbor with a new laser drone show highlighting a day full of activity. Due to construction on Long Wharf, the chamber was unable to present its usual fireworks show, which made room for an exciting new light show, presented by Baron’s Cove, in the sky above Steinbeck Park. Below is a full schedule of events.

Hike for HarborFrost

Mashashimuet Park

After breakfast meet at Mashashimuet Park (parking lot by the ball fields) for an easy-paced two-mile hike. See Round Pond and Fore and Aft Pond and take a walk on the old railroad spur trail used long ago to transport ice from the ponds to New York City and Sag Harbor. Then head into the village for the HarborFrost events.  Sponsored by Friends of the Long Pond Greenbelt. Leader: Dai Dayton, 631-745-0689.

Culinary Stroll

Starting at Il Capuccino

Sample some of Sag Harbor’s finest foods on this casual stroll through the village sponsored by the Sag Harbor Hysterical Society. The tour starts at Il Capuccino at noon with stops along the way at the Sag Pizza, Lulu, and LT Burger. $50 includes dining specialties at each stop, with entertainment along the way provided by local rockers. Cash bar. Proceeds go to a local charity.  The tour ends with plenty of time for guests to make their way to Steinbeck Park for the drone light show. Prizes for the best-decorated chef’s hat.

Come in from the cold and warm up at our self-serve hot chocolate station. We’ll provide the hot water, cocoa, tea and a few trimmings while supplies last. Don’t forget to stop by the photo station and have a photograph taken to commemorate HarborFrost 2020. Use our great props and take some fun filled winter wonderland shots with your family. Tag the library using #johnjermain and check out whom else visited us during HarborFrost.

What better way to celebrate our beautiful surroundings this HarborFrost weekend than by participating in the Frosty Plunge? Stop by Windmill Beach at 1 p.m. to register and join your friends and neighbors in the annual plunge into the frigid, but invigorating, waters of Sag Harbor. The $20 entrance fee will benefit the Sag Harbor Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Ice Breaker Sailing Regatta

Breakwater Yacht Club

Hosted by Breakwater Yacht Club and Community Sailing Center. There will be a skipper’s meeting at BYC at 1 p.m. with racing to follow at approximately 2 p.m. The entry fee is $15 per person. The Long-Island based ice carving company Ice Melodies returns to HarborFrost to carve beautiful ice sculptures at the new Steinbeck Park. Master carver Richard Daly is a national award-winning ice-carving artist and creates a unique and personal experience. With over 200 ice carving competition titles won, including five Gold Medals at the U.S. National Ice Carving Championships, Ice Melodies strives for perfection with every sculpture.

Get inside and let the little ones warm up during the afternoon hours as Apple Bank, Sanctuary Home, Emporium Hardware, Goat on a Boat Puppet Theatre, Il Capuccino, K Pasa, Sen Restaurant, Stella & Ruby, Sag Harbor Baking Company, The Sag Harbor Express, Noyac Civic Council, the Wharf Shop and others host simple games, crafts and activities. Drop off not permitted.

The Old Whalers Church returns to HarborFrost this year with Soup and Supper, Stop by for a bottomless bowl of your favorite soup for just $10 for adults and $5 for kids.

Fiery Sensations Fire Dancers

As the sun begins to set, The Fiery Sensations will perform their sizzling and electrifying show in the new Steinbeck Park. The Fiery Sensations is the Hamptons’ premier fire troupe. Each year they bring heat to HarborFrost, always offering and awe-inspiring and unforgettable show.

A drone laser light show will bring an end to HarborFrost on Saturday.

Watch in amazement as more than 200 drones light up the night sky over Sag Harbor. With the annual HarborFrost fireworks show on hold because of construction on Long Wharf, this year’s drone light show, presented in conjunction with Baron’s Cove,

The HooDoo Loungers will perform at Bay Street Theater.

Soul Spectacular Featuring The HooDoo Loungers

Bay Street Theater

This special evening will present The HooDoo Loungers digging deep into the roots of 1960s and 70s classic soul music. The music of Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Jackie Wilson and many others will be featured at this special evening. As a special added attraction, Mighty Ramon and the Phantoms of Soul will make their soulful Bay Street debut.
