The Katy’s Courage 5K will officially kick off the 2017 road race season on Saturday, April 22, at 8:30 a.m. Registration is between 7 and 8:15 a.m. near the starting line on West Water Street. Registration is $25 in advance at katyscourage.org or $30 on the day of the race. Proceeds go toward local scholarships and in support of Katy’s Kids@CMEE, which provides support to grieving children and their families. This will be the 7th annual race for Katy’s Courage, which brought out roughly 800 runners for last year’s race. The course runs through Sag Harbor Village and is flat with very few hills.
Members of the Teachers Association of Sag Harbor, the union of faculty employed by the Sag Harbor School District, expressed cautious support of the proposed South Fork Commuter Connection in a survey conducted by the school district last week.
