Joseph Robert Flicek, a 20 year resident of Sag Harbor, died in New York City on January 25. He was 65 years old.
Born in Sioux Falls, S.D., on February 24, 1952, he was the son of Robert Joseph and Virginia (Boler) Flicek.
Mr. Flicek received a masters in chemistry and a masters in business administration from the University of South Dakota. He was president of Blake Technologies and Blake Press.
Mr. Flicek was predeceased by his wife, Melinda Camber. He is survived by children Robert Camber Flicek of Albuquerque, N.M. and James Camber Flicek of Miami, Fla.
He is also survived by siblings Michael of Wyoming, Tom of South Dakota, Colleen Peterson of Minnesota, Jim of Wyoming, David of South Dakota and Theresa of Colorado. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visiting will be at Yardley & Pino Funeral Home in Sag Harbor on Sunday, February 4, at 1 p.m., with a funeral service beginning at 2 p.m.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Avera McKennan Foundation in memory of Joe Flicek. Donations will be directed to the Virginia Boler Flicek Multiple Myeloma Endowment / Melinda Camber Porter Ovarian Cancer Endowment.
