The Parrish Art Museum Friday Night series at the museum presents Jazz on the Terrace with renowned trumpet player Antoine Drye & Quartet, featuring guitarist Mark Whitfield, drummer Donald Edwards, and bassist Mike Noordzy, on July 31, at 6 p.m. The event takes place outdoors on the museum’s covered terrace, with possible use of the event lawn, weather permitting. Advance online ticket purchase with preregistration is required. Tickets are $20 ($10 members). Guests are asked to bring their own chairs as no museum seating is available.
“I’m delighted to continue our outdoor concert series with another stellar lineup. Antoine Drye and his quartet promise to create the perfect atmosphere for a relaxed evening on our Terrace,” said Corinne Erni, senior curator of ArtsReach and special projects.
A renowned trumpet player and session musician, Drye works across musical genres with a wide range of artists including his mentors Ellis Marsalis and Harold Battiste, as well as Delfeayo Marsalis, Jason Marsalis, Wycliffe Gordon, The Mingus Big Band, The Count Basie and Duke Ellington Orchestras, Lafayette Harris, and Paul Simon, among others. He lives and works in New York City, where he has often performed at premier jazz clubs including Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola, Smalls, Fat Cat, Smoke Jazz Bistro, The Jazz Standard, and Mezzrow. Drye has two self-released albums, “Oblation” (2002) and “Oblation vol. II: Dualism” (2019).
