Jackie Hoffman: From Broadway to Bay Street is the first concert of the Music Mondays concert series on Monday, July 2 at 8 pm. Hoffman takes over Bay Street Theater for a night of show tunes, covers, original songs, and “kvetching on an operatic scale” (New York Times).
Jackie Hoffman is long on comic talent and vocal power; short on patience with many things. She is one of the stage and screen’s favorite scene-stealers and an Emmy nominee. Bay Street Theater’s audiences will remember Jackie Hoffman from her starring role in the 2013 Mainstage Production of “A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum.”
After shining in supporting roles in “Hairspray,” “Xanadu,” “The Addams Family,” and “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” Hoffman made the transition to leading lady in the critically-acclaimed Off-Broadway revival of “Once Upon a Mattress.” She is also a fan favorite at Joe’s Pub, where she has performed a string of bawdy, vaudevillian solo shows, including “The Kvetching Continues,” the venue’s longest-running show. She received rave reviews for her recent role on Broadway as the comical Mrs. Teavee in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Additional performances will include Norm Lewis on July 9; Lucie Arnaz on July 16; Isaac Mizrahi on August 6; Charles Busch on August 13; Bobby Conte Thornton on August 20; and Mandy Gonzales on August 27.
Tickets range from $59 to $89. Ticketholders to three or more Music Mondays shows will receive 20 percent off, or 25 percent off for all seven shows. For more information, please call (631) 725-9500 or visit baystreet.org.
