There is a side to Howie Mandel that “America’s Got Talent” and “Deal or No Deal” has never seen — but definitely alluded to.
The celebrity judge and game show host also moonlights as a comedian, and will perform on Saturday, November 10, at 8 p.m. at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center, located at 76 Main Street in Westhampton Beach.
A force in show business for the last three decades, Mandel has tackled virtually every aspect of the entertainment industry, from television to film to stage. He started his career on a dare in Toronto, circa 1979, and shortly after found himself on the stage of the legendary Comedy Store in Los Angeles on amateur night — coaxed by his friends to get up and try his luck.
It panned out.
As fate would have it, there was a producer in the crowd, who immediately hired him to appear on the comedy game show “Make Me Laugh” — which led to talk show appearances, a stint as Diana Ross’ opening act and, eventually, to a six-season run on the NBC drama “St. Elsewhere.” Mandel currently serves as a judge on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” his eighth season of the 12-season series.
“Howie has done countless comedy specials both on cable and network television,” according to a press release. “He has also hosted his own syndicated talk show, ‘The Howie Mandel Show,’ and continues to be a mainstay on the talk show circuit. Howie also continues to perform as many as 200 concerts a year throughout the U.S. and Canada. Howie lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Terry, and their three children.”
Tickets range from $125 to $165. For more information, call (631) 288-1500 or visit whbpac.org.
