From a kid growing up in Brooklyn public housing to the CEO of a Fortune 500 company, Howard Schultz is the definition of a success story.
The chairman emeritus of Starbucks revolutionized the coffee industry — building an $84 billion business along the way — and will be the next guest of the Tom Twomey Series on Friday, August 17, at the East Hampton Library, located at 159 Main Street.
“His leadership at Starbucks was marked by a sense of social justice and strengthening communities through human connection and social innovation,” according to a press release.
The program — hosted by interviewer Andrew Ross Sorkin of the New York Times — will begin at 6 p.m. Admission is free, and a complimentary wine reception will precede the talk at 5:30 p.m.
