Artist Paton Miller has always wanted to see one of his paintings as the Hamptons International Film Festival poster.
That wish has finally come true.
Inspired by the farming and fishing life on the East End, he painted “Out of Shinnecock” two months before Anne Chaisson, executive director of the Hamptons International Film Festival, selected the oil on canvas for this year’s poster art.
“I am very happy with the final design of the Hamptons Film Festival’s 26th poster,” Miller said. “The searchlight on my boat is a happy coincidence looking like a projector’s light. Working with Anne Chaisson and the staff has been a pleasure and I look forward to this year’s event.”
The festival will be held from October 4 through 8, and passes and packages will go on sale September 5. For more information, visit hamptonsfilmfest.org.
