From Friday, February 12 through Sunday, February 14 the Parrish Art Museum will join a dozen museums nationwide in the “Hearts for Art” campaign, celebrating the love of art and Valentine’s Day. Throughout the weekend, Museum visitors are invited to pick up a paper heart at the Visitor Services desk and place it in front of their favorite work on display in the galleries. Guests are encouraged take photographs of the work they chose as their “art crush” and share it on their preferred social media platform using #parrishartmuseum and #heartsforart.

The initiative, started three years ago by the Oakland Museum of California and the Columbus Museum of Art, has expanded to include more than a dozen institutions nationwide. The goal is for visitors to engage more deeply with works of art on view by fostering keen observation, critical thinking, and conversations in the galleries. Visitors will also enjoy a sense of greater participation through the nationwide social media campaign. The museum will share some of its favorite social media posts throughout the weekend.

Heart for Art will take place at the Parrish Art Museum, 279 Montauk Highway in Water Mill, Friday, February 12 through Sunday February 14 and is free with museum admission. For more information, visit parrishart.org.
