The HamptonsFilm “Now Showing” Series is continuing with private online “screenings” of Zeitgeists’ “Sorry We Missed You,” a film directed by Ken Loach and written by Paul Laverty. This film can be watched privately via HamptonsFilm website (hamptonsfilmfest.org) and the link will be available through May 11. Proceeds will be split between HamptonsFilm, Guild Hall and Zeitgeist Films in Association with Kino Lorber

“Sorry We Missed You” tells the story of a hard-up UK delivery driver and his wife struggling to raise their family. Hoping that self-employment through gig economy work can solve their financial woes, they end up trapped in the vicious circle of this modern-day form of labor exploitation. The film stars Kris Hitchen, Debbie Honeywood and Rhys Stone.

Also available on the HamptonsFilm website is “Friday Flashback” a new series featuring HampotonsFilm board member Alec Baldwin who offers a video introduction and recommendation of a film that can currently be found through on online streaming platforms. Baldwin also shares a YouTube video of one of his conversations related to the film.

On Friday, April 24, the series spotlighted “The Short Game,” which was screened as part of the 2013 SummerDoc series at Guild Hall. The documentary, a family-friendly film available on Netflix, follows some of the best 7-year-old golfers in the world as they train for and compete in the 2012 U.S. Kids Golf World Championship.

HamptonsFilm’s audiences can visit the website to access the post-screening discussion from the 2013 Guild Hall event. Led by Baldwin and HamptonsFilm artistic director David Nugent, it featured the documentary’s director Josh Greenbaum and Sky Sudberry, one of the young golfers in the film.

Many of the “Friday Flashback” film selections will come from the SummerDocs series, while

some will be conversations that took place at the annual Hamptons International Film Festival in the fall, and a few will be films that have gone through the organization’s Screenwriters Lab. Selected films will be announced as a surprise each Friday. Visit hamptonsfilmfest.org to learn more.
