Geraldine “Gerri” Mae Fick Shenton has passed away. She was born in Southampton on February 27, 1943 to Harry E. Fick and Domicelle “Daisy” Sabloski Fick. She attended Pierson High School in Sag Harbor and graduated in 1961. She then was accepted into the nursing program at St. Mary’s Hospital for Children in Bayside, New York.
Mrs. Shenton later met and married Norman James Shenton, who was in the US Air Force stationed at Montauk Point. She moved to Gambrills, Md. in 1971.
Mrs. Shenton was a devout and active member of the Anglican Church. She enjoyed knitting and always had a secret trove of chocolate for those emergency situations.
Mrs. Shenton is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Norman, her daughter Susan Theresa Shenton Oliver and her husband Rick, her son James Edward Shenton, her daughter-in-law Elsa Maria Sanches Shenton, her cousin Gail Sabloski Ott and husband Tom, her sister Charlotte Fairley, her grandchildren Christopher, Nydia, William, Luke and the entire extended family. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
The viewing will be at Hardesty Funeral Home, Gambrills, Md., from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, August 7. Services will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Crownsville, Md. at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 8.
