On Friday, May 4, Gene Casey and Tricia Scotti will play a concert to save the turtles.
This isn’t just a normal benefit concert, though. It is part of the fourth annual Songwriters Share Concert Series, where local songwriters not only perform, but tell the audience what inspired their music and give their concert proceeds to a local charity of their choice.
In this case, Casey and Scotti chose Turtle Rescue of the Hamptons, a not-for-profit organization located on the North Fork that is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of sick and injured turtles that are native to New York.
The concert will start at 7:30 p.m., followed by a reception, at the Unitarian Universalist Meetinghouse of the South Fork, located at 977 Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike in Bridgehampton. Tickets are $20 and $15 for students and seniors.
