Florence M. O’Connell, 83, of Sag Harbor and Brooklyn, passed away at Southampton Hospital on May 18.
Born in Brooklyn in 1933, she was one of six siblings. She married Richard O’Connell of Sag Harbor and raised three sons, Jeffrey and Steven of Sag Harbor, and Daniel of Riverhead.
For 25 years she worked at Southampton Hospital in the admitting department as assistant supervisor. After retiring she helped out in the nursery at the local gym where the children affectionately called her “Flo-Flo.”
Mrs. O’Connell was “Silly Grandma” to Ashley, Meredith, Meghan, Zach and Jacob O’Connell, and her funny sense of humor will be missed by them.
Donations to the Sag Harbor Ambulance Corps would be greatly appreciated, their help to her was invaluable.
