At 11:05 p.m. on Thursday night, Sag Harbor Fire Department firefighters responded a car fire on Route 114 in the vicinity of the Harbor Heights gas station and found a late-model pickup truck with a small fire under the hood and behind the dashboard. Crews extinguished the fire without incident, and the fire marshal was called to investigate the fire’s cause and origin.
Lovers of the season will appreciate the Southampton History Museum’s upcoming Holiday Party. Titled “Hearthside Cheer: Designer Tree Auction,” the party is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 7. The festive evening at the Rogers Mansion, which was built during Southampton’s Gilded Age, will include food, drinks, music, and a designer tree auction.
Members of Sag Harbor’s Civil Service Union and eight additional employees will receive annual base pay hikes plus 3-percent raises for three years of a new five-year agreement that the Village Board of Trustees approved on Tuesday. For two of those years, salaries will rise by 3 percent but without the base-pay hike.
