Fashion in Film: New series running at Montauk Library

Cineastes and fashionistas take note — on Sunday afternoons at 2:30 p.m. now through May 24, the Montauk Library will present “Savoir Faire: Iconic Fashion in Iconic Films,” a series of classic Hollywood films where couture and characters are inextricably and indelibly combined.

March is Alfred Hitchcock month and coming up are Hitchcock films all starring Cary Grant, including “Notorious” on March 15; “To Catch a Thief” on March 22; and “North by Northwest” on March 29.

All the films in April and May star Audrey Hepburn with wardrobe by Givenchy. The line-up includes “Charade” on April 5; “How to Steal a Million” on April 12; “Roman Holiday” on April 19; “Sabrina” on April 26; “Funny Face” on May 3; “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” on May 10; “Paris When it Sizzles” on May 17; and “Love Among Thieves” on May 24.
