Customization is the name of the game when it comes to Charles Charters. The Florida-based company has come up to East Hampton to launch their first season on the East End. Owners, operators and captains, Charles and Karen Giambalvo are a husband and wife team who started their company just four years ago. It’s their passion to host clients while cruising Shelter Island, Greenport, Sag Harbor, Montauk and beyond.

The Jefferson 50’ Rivanna S.E. is located at Gardiner’s Marina between Sag Harbor and Amagansett and can host roughly 13 guests. The yacht is also equipped with snorkels, fins, masks, noodles, floats and a 12’ tube upon request. The Giambalvos’ goal is to give each customer the ultimate luxury experience tailored to their preferences, full of relaxation and flexible services from the crew.

Charles Charters offers half day (three-four hours) or full day cruises, including bottomless cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, swimming activities and meals. Prior to the charter, guests have a conversation with the Giambalvos to discuss music, food and itinerary preferences in order to customize the charter experience. Guests can opt to bring their own food, catering or even request to stop at a local waterfront restaurant.

“Our favorite place on the East End to take guests to is Coecles Harbor in Shelter Island. It’s a beautiful, serine place to hang out and enjoy the surroundings. We’ll bring out paddle boards and other activities for guests and it’s a great way to get away from heavy boat traffic. Another cool place is Town Dock at the base of Dering Harbor. Guests can disembark and walk around, get ice cream and check out the quaint shops of Shelter Island,” says Captain Charles.
