Canna Cocktails

We’ll try not to use the word “healthy” when describing the new cocktails being served at The American Hotel in Sag Harbor, which have been infused with CBD oil, a chemical compound known as a “cannabinoid” that is found in marijuana plants. The drinks at the hotel, which come with a somewhat-hefty $20 price tag, are noticeably laced with the fats and waxes of a marijuana plant, which have been said to provide therapeutic and even healing properties. CBD oil, which is provided to the hotel through Harbor Books and a company called Elmore Mountain Therapeutics, one of the most renowned CBD companies in the country, contains only trace amounts of THC, the main psychoactive cannabinoid in marijuana. The drinks at the hotel are certainly not short on booze, however, with variations including bourbon, gin, vodka and tequila

The combined effect of the drinks might be a more relaxed cocktail hour, and certainly some lively and interesting conversation along with continued debate over just how effective CBD oil might be in treating pain, joint inflammation, nausea, anxiety and depression. These are some of our favorites.
