East Hampton GOP Elects Reginald Cornelia as Chairman

The East Hampton Town Republican Committee on April 13 formally elected Reginald Cornelia as chairman. He will complete the remainder of the term of former Chairman Tom Knobel who stepped down last month. Mr. Cornelia will now serve through September 17.

A long-time active Republican, Mr. Cornelia said in a release, “The Committee’s immediate goals are to re-elect Lee Zeldin to Congress, elect a Republican president, and to recruit new members and candidates for local elections.”

Mr. Knobel resigned in the wake of a disappointing election last November for East Hampton Town Republicans, who failed to chip away at the super-majority held by the Democrats on the town board and saw local candidate Amos Goodman lose his bid for Suffolk County Legislature.
